Life Legacy
Dorothy A. Walters, 92, of Alvy departed this life Thursday, July 8, 2010 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. She was born August 14, 1917 in Tyler County a daughter of the late James and Faye Thomas Lancaster.
Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of the Alvy Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William R. Walters in 1980. A son Robert Neal Walters. Five brothers; Homer, Edwin, Frank, Arthur and Rexall Gail Lancaster. Two sisters; Minnie Swiger and an infant.
Dorothy is survived by three sons; Carl E. Walters ( Judy ), Providence, NC, Jerry L. Walters, Alvy, Roger L. Walters ( Susan ), Canton, OH. Two daughters; Doris J. Underwood ( Raymond ), Parkersburg and Barbara L. Baker ( Marshall ), Alvy. A sister Vada Underwood, Colliers, WV. Sixteen grandchildren, Twenty four great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday 2- 4 and 7-9 pm at Furbee Funeral Home, Route 18, Tyler where services will be held 11:00 am Saturday with Evangelist Roy Dawson officiating. Interment in Alvy Church of Christ Cemetery, Alvy, WV.
